To ensure a successful outcome please follow the guidelines
listed below when collecting specimens:
For every patient collect 3-5 cc of peripheral blood
in a large EDTA tube with the purple top. The blood must be kept at room temperature
or cooler, do
not freeze. If you are also requesting FISH analysis for a disorder collect an additional 3 cc of blood in sodium heparin tube with the dark green top.
Collect 5-10 cc in sterile centrifuge tubes. Keep specimen cool but do not freeze. You may also send cultured
amniocytes in two t-25 flasks.
