GENETICS LABORATORIES

Welcome to the Genetics Laboratories at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC). The Genetics Laboratory is a full-service cytogenetics and molecular genetics clinical laboratory. We provide comprehensive services in chromosome and molecular studies including congenital disorders, prenatal diagnosis, and hematologic/ oncologic disorders. We are a referral lab for Diagnostic Laboratories of Oklahoma, Norman Regional Health System, Mercy Health Center, Integris Medical Centers, Dean McGee Eye Institute, Oklahoma State Department of Health, Chickasaw and Choctaw Nation Health Systems, and OU Medical Center. We also participate in the national COG studies.

The OUHSC Genetics Laboratory is a CLIA-certified (37D0967945) lab and accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP# 2038704) and routinely participate in their proficiency testing programs. In following with CAP, CLIA, and ACMG guidelines all laboratory developed tests receive comprehensive and traceable analytic validation.

As part of our commitment to education, our laboratory hosts pathology residents and hematology fellows during their rotations. We also provide training to students who are working to obtain their Masters degree in Genetic Counseling. In 2015 we received accreditation from ABMGG for the Clinical Genetics Laboratory Training programs.
